June 2025 Monthly Faves: Drop-Waist Dresses, “Recovery Broth” And a New Ingredient-Checker For Sunscreen
This month, dreams really did come true as we hosted our first live podcast in Toronto (dropping in your feed on July 2) recorded in NYC with a vision-board guest, and ushered in the first day of sweet, sweet summer.
Carlene’s Faves
Coming to your feeds this September, we recently interviewed one of our forever dream guests whilst in New York, Ms. Lisa Eldridge. I finally got to try her stuff-of-legends face products and yes, they lived up to the hype. Using Lisa’s method, I used the Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint all over my face (applying with a brush turned out miles better results than using my fingers.) Then, in the centre of my face, I used the Seamless Skin Foundation to cover where I needed coverage most. Duo of the year, I’d say.
I managed to score a facial at Raquel New York (more on that below) with past guest extraordinaire, Raquel Medina Cleghorn, while in the Big Apple and it was there that I discovered Reome, an uber chic skincare line out of the UK founded by fellow beauty journalist Joanna Ellner. I’ve been using the Active Recovery Broth ever since – a boon for sensitized, post-flight skin, thanks to centella asiatica, oat actives and biotech-y, bio-fermented ingredients.
Jill helped me pick out this pretty, drop-waist Gia dress (similar here) from a Lower East Side shop called Pêche, for our super fun Toronto live event with Dr. Idriss. Love everything about the day and the sleeveless frock, but the latter did remind me that my strawberry-skinned upper arms need a little love, too. Enter First Aid Beauty’s KP Bump Eraser, which just so happens to be on sale for 25% off starting today until July 8th at Sephora.

I've long been a fan of non-comedogenic “ingredient checker” tools like the one that acne whispering esthetician Sofie Pavitt developed on her site. Now, thanks to past guest Charlotte Palermino and her team at Dieux, we have an SPF ingredient “checker,” so we know exactly which SPF filters (including any sneaky SPF “boosters”) are in our sunscreen products with a simple copy and paste into their “Sun Screener” tool. While on their site, snag their brand new Ethereal Cleansing Oil - so #damngood.
In the midst of this month’s gnarly heat wave, I was instantly taken with the “moisturizing gel” formula for Caudalie’s new VinoHydra Cleanser. It’s as refreshing as you’d expect from a gel cleanser, but definitely less stripping than the usual summer suspects. I’ll be emptying this one by season’s end.
I can’t stop thinking about The Dallas Cowboys’ cheerleaders' beauty routines ever since I binged season two of “America’s Sweethearts” on Netflix. The “Hairography,” spray tans and makeover moments were a sight to behold. Personally, I think the girls are so stunning that they could use a “makeunder,” vs the stage makeup they currently wear, which is why I was pumped to learn that the queen of glow, Charlotte Tilbury, will be their first ever official makeup partner going forward. Flawless Filter for everyone, y’all!
